In a bid to contain COVID-19 cases in Assam, the state government has announced more restrictions and containment measures to be put in place from May 13, 2021. Under the new restrictions, all shops and commercial establishments will be closed at 1 PM on all days and weekly bazaars will not be allowed for 15 days. Restaurants and eateries can have dine-in guests till 1 PM after which only home delivery of food will be allowed. Both government and non-government offices have been ordered to remain closed for 15 days.
