(Michel Euler, Pool/Associated Press)PARIS — French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed support for Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s ambitious reforms and diplomatic peace efforts. Last week, Ethiopian lawmakers approved the country’s first female president, who is also Africa’s only current female head of state. Macron and Abiy also pledged to increase cultural cooperation, especially on World Heritage sites such as the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela.
