By Maria MartinezFrance's industrial production rose strongly in June, beating forecasts for a contraction, despite supply-chain issues and the energy crisis. According to data released Friday by the country's statistics agency Insee, total industrial output--comprising output in manufacturing, energy and construction--increased 1.4% from the previous month. Economists polled by The Wall Street Journal had expected factory output to fall 0.2% on the month. Manufacturing output--the largest component of industrial production--rose 1.2% in June compared with the previous month and energy production increased 2.4%. Insee revised production data of the previous month, and following the revision, French industrial production increased 0.2% on month in May instead of stagnating.
