New Delhi: The government has asked the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) to develop so-called freight villages, a concept borrowed from European countries. The state-run IWAI will also provide inland waterways connectivity to these logistic hubs. How will the freight villages change logistics? In fact, freight villages will change the logistic narrative of India. It is a challenging engineering project which will be inland waterway’s engineering marvel.
