The incident occurred near his residence in Rooppur village, of Pakshi union under Pabna's Ishwardi upazila, around 9pm on Wednesday. The deceased, Mostafizur Rahman Selim, 67, was the former general secretary of Awami League's Pakshi union unit. He was promptly transferred to Rajshahi for further treatment, however he died on the way there.
