According to experts, non-tariff barriers, including uncoordinatedbureaucratic procedures, long waiting times at borders or lengthy andcumbersome export requirements hinder trade within Africa. AfCFTA is hailed as one of the largest free trade areas since theformation of the World Trade Organisation in the mid-1990s.
