Frank Sinatra's Audemars Piguet Watch Sells At Sotheby's Auction, Along With His Paintings And More

With a creative headline, "Start spreading the news," Sotheby's announced the final total of its recent auction, Lady Blue Eyes: Property of Barbara and Frank Sinatra, at $9.2 million. Among the items culling the highest prices were a Norman Rockwell painting of Frank Sinatra entitled "Sinatra: An American Classic (Portrait of Frank Sinatra) that sold for $687,000. Additionally, it seems Old Blue Eyes dabbled in painting, as well, and nine paintings by him went up for auction. One painting alone, the Frank Sinatra ‘Untitled’ Painting sold for seven times its highest estimate, at $137,500. While watches did not play a big role in the auction, Frank Sinatra's Audemars Piguet watch (lot 1054 of the online-only auction) was up for sale and was estimated to sell for $800 to $1,200.
