Mateo Kovacic has predicted that Frank Lampard will take Chelsea to “many successes” as a manager - and slammed Maurizio Sarri’s training as boring. The Croatian midfielder joined Chelsea on a permanent basis in the summer after spending last season on loan at Stamford Bridge under Sarri. He failed to score a single goal last term, but this year under Lampard has blossomed, scoring two goals and producing three assists to help Chelsea establish themselves in the top four. Kovacic, 25, said: “When the club announced him as their new coach, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I came to Chelsea under Sarri, but Lampard is an exceptional manager.
