The figures, courtesy of Germany travel site GoEuro, measured 300 million domestic train journeys in 40 countries from April 2015 to April 2016. And while France doesn't score particularly well for train travel, it was another story for air and bus passengers. Indeed, France ranks 25th most expensive out of 40 countries for bus travel, with an average price of €4.78 per 100 kilometres. When all the transports were collated, France ranked 11th priciest out of 40 countries, with an average cost of €12.37 per 100 kilometres.
