In context, this story is indicative less of actual terrorism at the border than of the ability of right-wing media to manipulate a report to serve their anti-immigration agenda. On Jesse Watters Primetime, guest host Brian Kilmeade said, “It’s not just migrants illegally crossing our southern border in 2021 looking for a better life. … It only takes one person to cause a tragedy, and 23 is just the suspected number of terrorists who were caught. And then you get to Bill Melugin’s report … 23 terrorists that we know of in 2021 crossing illegally. But this administration is way more concerned with parents who are also domestic terrorists.
