In the first quarter of 2017, Fox News reached its largest audience in the channel’s 21-year history. From Dec. 26, 2016, to March 26, 2017, Fox averaged 1.7 million viewers each day and 2.8 million in primetime. Fox reached 2.9 million primetime viewers (up 21%), and CNN reached 1.2 million primetime viewers (down 17%). After the collapse of the Republican health care bill, she drew 3.1 million viewers, outpacing all other cable news shows. CNN’s total day ratings are up 11% over last year, although its primetime ratings are somewhat lower than in Q1 2016 when the network aired numerous Republican and Democratic primary debates.
