A PTU male officer attached to the West Kowloon region has tested positive with Covid-19 in preliminary checks. A sergeant from a police tactical unit (PTU) team has tested positive in preliminary checks for coronavirus, making him the fourth officer infected in the local outbreak. The police announced on social media this morning that a 46-year-old sergeant who is based in the West Kowloon region fell ill on Thursday and tested preliminary positive the next day. "He was not considered as a close contact of the other infected officers, and did not have any travel history in the previous 14 days," the force said. Members working at the same unit with the male officer were asked to work from home, and police said it was disinfecting facilities he had used including the station and a dormitory.
