KOTA KINABALU: A couple's Hari Raya visit to a friend's house turned into a nightmare when their son fell into a river in Kuala Penyu – located some 70km from here – and died later in hospital Thursday (June 6). The victim, Muhammad Fazril Abdullah, four, arrived at the Hari Raya open house at Kg Tempurung with his parents at about 4.15pm. His parents asked him to stay close and play with other children, but it is believed he wandered off towards a river behind the house. "The host's son carried the boy out of the river and was given first aid," he said. They family took him to the Kuala Penyu hospital and medical officials told them they could still detect a pulse.
