Police held 23-year-old Md Sujan alias ‘Abu’ and presented him in court on Tuesday, said Karnaphuli police OC Syedul Mostafa. A group of robbers barged into a house at Shah Mirpur village in Patiya Upazila on Dec 12. They raped four women there and fled with money and gold jewellery, the OC said quoting locals. “Her daughter came to visit her on that day.”The robbers kept the old woman and the children hostage and raped the other women, he said. The victims went to Karnaphuli Police Station but police sent them to Patiya Police Station, Didarul said.
