Four new cases of Covid-19 have been announced in Taranaki, with one being an unlinked case in New Plymouth. In it's 1pm statement, the Ministry of Health announced one new case linked to the Eltham cluster, but a further three – two linked to Eltham and the New Plymouth case – were revealed at 6pm. There are now 23 active cases in the region, greater than Taranaki’s total for the whole of 2020. More than 300 tests had been completed in the 24 hours since the cluster was announced and more cases are expected.
