Four congressional elections have been held in seats vacated by Republicans who joined the Trump administration. Of course, that’s what a 2018 House election will be. It was a neat trick, because Trump’s approval rating slipped throughout the election, and on Election Day he was viewed negatively. From 2014 to the 2017 special election, the Democratic vote in Georgia’s 6th District rose by 74.7 percent. And that was the absolute best Republican performance in any of these special elections.
