Six people, including four Jaish-e-Muhammad militants, one Army man and one policeman were killed in an operation in the forests of Tral area of south Kashmir on Tuesday.The encounter took place in Gaytengo forests area of Laam village, where armed forces encountered the militants during a search operation, following an intelligence input. The four terrorists killed were part of JeM,” Inspector General of police S P Pani told ET.The SOG personnel and Army man killed in the encounter have been identified as Latif Gojri and Ajay Kumar . Both succumbed at the 92 base hospital of Army in Srinagar.J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti paid tribute to the slain Army man and policeman. The search was called off after bodies of the four militants and their rifles were recovered. “During the encounter, incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot,” J&K police spokesperson said.
