Four people have been injured in a two-car crash near Lawrence this morning. A police spokeswoman said one person was in a serious condition and was being taken to Dunedin Hospital by rescue helicopter. She said the incident happened on the Lawrence-Waitahuna Highway (State Highway 8), near Bloy Rd, about 10.50am. One of the cars rolled and the other hit a bank, but it was not yet known what caused the crash, she said. The NZ Transport Agency said the highway was closed and motorists should allow extra time for their journeys.
