Nelson rowers picked up 10 medals, including four golds, at the South Island Club Championships as they prepare for the nationals and secondary school competitions. The large Nelson team comprised of 48 college-aged rowers, three club rowers and two masters rowers. Supplied The Nelson men’s club novice eight powered their way to bronze over the weekend. Competing in their first regatta competition, the men’s novice coxed eight rounded off the medal tally by winning bronze. College rowers will return to Lake Ruataniwha in their respective Nelson College, Nelson College for Girls, Waimea College and Nayland College colours for the South Island Secondary Schools regatta beginning on March 5.
