PHOTO: ODT FILESFour Dunedin skaters are set to represent New Zealand on the ice in Melbourne in May. Lucienne Holtz (14), Masaki Joe (13), Rebekah Sime (12) and Brooke Cathro (10) were selected for the ISU Oceania Novice Competition. Aimed at novice level skaters, the event looks to develop regional talent by exposing younger athletes to higher levels of competition. The level refers to international standards, the two higher being junior and senior - senior is Olympic level. Dunedin's Fanis Shakirzianau will travel as the team coach, while Nicki Holtz is the assistant team leader.
