Of them, Rana is a former army corporal, police saidDeputy Commissioner Khaled said they posed as police detectives and planned to commit crimes like abduction and extract ransom for releasing hostages. "They used to wait in front of banks in cars equipped with walkie-talkies, fake pistols and vests used by DB officers. "As soon as their targets walked out of the bank, they would whisk them away in their car posing as officers and would then ask families for ransom," Khaled said.
