Daniel Banks was more than three times over the limit when he got behind the wheel and crashed on a rural Northumberland road. Jade Houston, prosecuting at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court, said police were called to a crash on the B1337, near Ulgham, on October 29 last year. He confirmed he had been driving and was drinking out of two plastic lemonade bottles at the side of the road. Officers searched the vehicle and found one large bottle of vodka, two small bottles of vodka, two cans of San Miguel and a further small bottle of vodka."
