The accident occurred in Rashid Company Darja area of Ekhlashpur Union at 3 pm on Saturday, said Begumganj Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Md Shahjahan Sheikh. The dead have been identified as Khadiza Khatun, 40, her daughter Kamrunnahar Polly Akhtar, 22, Ibrahim Raju, 45, and Sakib Hossain, 20. According to police official Shahjahan, a Sugandha Paribahan bus from Feni was on its way to Noakhali when it crashed head-on with an autorickshaw travelling in the opposite direction. Another died while undergoing treatment in hospital.”Autorickshaw driver Masud Alam, 35, and Khadiza’s son Rony, 15, are in critical condition and have been admitted to Noakhali General Hospital for treatment. Legal action will be taken over the incident, said police official Shahjahan.
