At least 67 people were killed and scores injured in the devastating fire incident. The Industries Ministry formed a 12 member committee headed by Additional Secretary Md Mufizul Hoque to inquire into the incident and submit a report in five working days. Meanwhile, Fire Service and Civil Defence has formed a three -member committee led by its deputy director (operations), to look into the incident and submit a report in seven days. On Thursday, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) also formed a 10 member committee to identify risky and fire-affected buildings. The committee includes representatives from the city corporation, Fire Service and Civil Defence, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK).
