The Mayor of Al-Bayda Municipal Council, Khaled Salem, has announced the death of four children following a fire that broke out inside a residential apartment in the Chinese buildings area of the city. In a press statement on Monday, Salem said the fire erupted late on Sunday night, noting that the relevant authorities have begun investigating the incident. He added that the children’s parents were transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment, explaining that the mother’s condition is critical while the father’s condition is stable. Preliminary indications suggest that the fire started due to a malfunction in an electricity generator.
