Four Stuff photographers shortlisted for New Zealand Geographic award

Chris McKeen’s shot of hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters taking a knee and raising their fist outside the US Consulate has put him on the shortlist for New Zealand Geographic photographer of the year. Four Stuff photographers have been recognised for their ability to capture poignant moments of beauty, elation and despair by being shortlisted for the New Zealand Geographic photographer of the year award. Braden Fastier, Chris McKeen, Alden Williams, and David White are in the running to claim the prestigious photography prize. The photos cover a range of recent news events, like White's poignant shot from Auckland’s Nihotupu Reservoir capturing the impact of the ongoing drought or McKeen's shot from a Black Lives Matter solidarity protest. Voting is open on the New Zealand Geographic website, where all 40 of the finalists’ entries can be seen.
