Four Russian airlines have asked the Federal Agency for Air Transport (FAAT) to allow the resumption of flights between Egypt and Russia, Russian news agency TASS reported on Thursday. The four airlines that made the request are Yamal Airlines, Azur Air, Pegas Fly and Nordwind, according to a statement from FAAT, which supervises aviation in Russia. The airlines requested permission to restart flights from Moscow to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, TASS reported. Egypt and Russia agreed in September 2016 to develop an agreement that would state security and safety measures agreed on between the two countries before the resumption of flights. EgyptAir has requested earlier in October from Russia to operate three weekly flights between Cairo and Moscow strating October 30.
