Four Indian fishermen detained by Sri Lankan navy, boats seized


Four Indian fishermen were detained by the Sri Lankan navy near Naina Island on Tuesday morning. The instances of Indian fishermen being apprehended by Sri Lankan navy are not new. Prior to that, Sri Lankan authorities had said that they will consult their fishermen before taking a decision on proposals by India of granting access to Indian fishermen in Sri Lankan waters under certain conditions. Around 70 fishermen were arrested 101 boats seized in recent incidences. There boats were also seized by the navy personnel.
