Four 163” LED museum displays showcase Ethiopian art

The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) has consistently evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of its audience, embracing the use of modern technologies. As part of the museum’s vision to give digital art the same prominence as its traditional collections, it has set up a Digital Artist in Residence Program. To advance this vision, the museum teamed up with Blue Square for the House of Yatreda installation in its Ethiopia at the Crossroads exhibit. The TMA installed four Vision X 163” 4K LED displays to showcase Yatreda’s Abyssinian Queen series, which animates the life and journeys of an Ethiopian queen and her followers. The high-resolution displays offer a cinematic experience that immerses visitors in the Ethiopian concept of tizita – a nostalgic longing for the past.
