PETRONAS Foundation is assisting 3,400 low-income families in targetted districts across Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Terengganu through the foundation’s Touch of Hope -– Mekar Programme (Sustaining Basic Economy for the People). It also provides skills training to improve B40 communities’ living standards and income stream. Petronas Foundation chief executive officer Lita Osman, said, “We believe socioeconomic progress is inclusive and all Malaysians should experience a better quality of life. “Today, I own a stall selling various types of noodles and earn 12 times more than my previous income. Now, he is successfully running a burger stall with a monthly income of RM1,500, which is four times what he had earned before.
