A charity organisation, Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial (DOAM) Foundation, has dewormed vulnerable children in Lagos and Ogun states to enhance their growth and health. The foundation’s Programme Officer for Health, Catherine Olukotun, disclosed that the outreach was part of activities marking this year’s Children’s Day. The foundation’s Programme Officer for Education, Akinsode Fatima, said it was to reach out to the children who might feel neglected after a prolonged holiday due to the pandemic-induced lockdown. She stated that it was an opportunity for DOAM to demonstrate its core mission of touching lives, showing love and support to the vulnerable and under-privileged children. “As the coronavirus crisis bars children and youths from schools, the underprivileged kids depend on everyday people, celebrities, corporate organisations and humanitarian agencies for support,” she added.
