The 36-year-old is the Green Party's candidate for the Te Atatu electorate. TORIKA TOKALAU/STUFF Golriz Ghahraman is running in the elections for the first time, for the Green Party and contesting the Te Atatu electorate. "My first experience of New Zealand was being able to have human rights and being welcomed and supported," Ghahraman said. She said she chose to run for Te Atatu because she identified herself as a west Aucklander - despite now living in Freemans Bay.
