Former Water Resources minister and ex-MP for Thakurgaon-1 (Sadar upazila), Ramesh Chandra Sen, died after falling ill at Dinajpur District Jail. He was declared dead at 9:29am on Saturday by doctors at the emergency department of Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. Earlier, after becoming ill in the morning, he was taken from the district jail to the hospital at 9:10am. Dinajpur District Jail Superintendent Farhad Sarkar confirmed the death, saying the body would be handed over to the family after completion of the necessary legal procedures. Ramesh Chandra Sen was born on April 30, 1940, in Kashalgaon village of Ruhia Union under Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon district.
