RED DEER, ALTA.—A former United Conservative Party member of the Alberta legislature who faces sex charges has waived his right to a preliminary inquiry. Don MacIntyre resigned as the member for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake on Feb. 2 after he was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference with a minor. On Friday, MacIntyre, who is 62, waived his right to an inquiry, which is used to determine if there is enough evidence for a case to go to trial.
