A former Timaru woman has lost everything in the fires which swept through New South Wales in Australia recently. "All her art, her journals ... every now and then she'll go 'oh, oh my god my...' and think of something [that she's lost]." Krone and Hawkes' father shifted to Tathra about three years ago, before the pair separated last year. Timaru woman Kate Elsen​ said she has been friends with Krone since they attended Craighead.
