Former Thomas Cook boss squirms as he's urged to repay millions in bonuses

Peter Fankhauser told MPs he is "deeply sorry" he failed to save the company but he looked uncomfortable as the chair of the business committee suggested he should personally cough up. Thomas Cook collapsed after failing to secure an extra £200m needed to keep it afloat. Mr Fankhauser has previously said half of the £8.3million package he got since 2014 came is now worthless shares in the travel giant. Mr Fankhauser last received a bonus in 2017 when he was handed £750,000 of which 30% was in shares. Mr Fankhauser is one of five senior Thomas Cook figures giving evidence to the Commons' Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee.
