Kent Mori stands in the Palmerston North District Court where he was sentenced for indecently assaulting a student at the school where he worked. The Manawatū teen suffered anxiety and says her life has been ruined forever by Kent Lewis Mori's offending. In the Palmerston North District Court on Tuesday, Mori was sentenced to two months' community detention – a night-time curfew – 100 hours' community work and supervision for nine months. Mori taught at Freyberg High School in Palmerston North where he and the teen had a lot to do with each other, including attending sport massage sessions together. Defence lawyer Steve Winter said Mori initially told police it was an accident, but later went back to correct the record and admit everything.
