Thaweewong Thongyuen, 55, former chairman of the Phan Thong Tambon Administration Organisation (TAO) in Chon Buri, told police that he was still supporting Weerayapa Noamwilai, 36, after their divorce. He asked an aide to contact a gunman baht to kill her and offered 200,000 baht to get the job done. Mr Thaweewong was subsequently arrested at a plantation in Tha Muang district of Kanchanaburi on Thursday night. Acting as the middleman, Mr Somchai received 200,000 baht from Mr Thaweewong and paid 30,000 baht to the gunman, police said. A black pickup truck with a Chon Buri licence plate was seized from them.
