Former Southlander appointed Hong Kong's head netball coach

Dion Te Whetu, formerly of Ohai, in Southland, is the new head coach of the Hong Kong women's netball team. A former Ohai man is about to start a rather large commute to work later in the year when he takes up his new job as the head coach of the Hong Kong women’s netball team. Working for the Hong Kong Netball Association, Te Whetu will also be in charge of its high performance programmes and to help with the men’s team. Te Whetu will continue to live in the capital but plans to make trips to Hong Kong every six weeks to hold 10-day training camps. “Hong Kong is really enthusiastic about its netball,” Te Whetu said.
