A statement issued on behalf of the McQueen family said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. “Gordon, a legendary defender for Manchester United and Scotland, managed the Diamonds from 1987-1988. “Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with Gordon’s family, friends and former team-mates.”
