WASHINGTON—A federal judge Monday rejected a last-ditch effort by former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s attorneys to dismiss the criminal case against him and set a sentencing date of Jan. 28. Mr. Flynn, who briefly served as President Trump’s first national security adviser, pleaded guilty two years ago to a single count of lying to investigators about his contact with the Russian ambassador. He became a cooperating witness in former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation while awaiting sentencing.
