Solskjaer left Old Trafford in November after a poor start to the season and was replaced by Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis. Nicholas told the Scottish Daily Express in his column: "If Aberdeen really want to make a statement of intent, they should approach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. "I was thinking about managerial options for my old club and I would love them to ask the former Manchester United manager if he is interested. "I do get that, but Solskjaer's CV out with Old Trafford is Molde and Cardiff City - two clubs of similar size and potential to Aberdeen.
