David Moyes believes Manchester United held off sacking him to avoid paying the extra money he would have been entitled to a few weeks earlier. Moyes was sacked in April 2014, 10 months into his six-year contract and received £4.5million, about half of what he would have received if he was sacked weeks earlier.
