Maurice Setters has died at the age of 83, it has been announced. The former wing-half enjoyed spells at Manchester United , Coventry City and West Bromwich Albion as a player, before entering coaching. Setters was best known during his post-playing career for being Republic of Ireland's assistant manager, where he worked alongside Jack Charlton during the nation's most successful spell in their history. An FAI statement said: "The Football Association of Ireland are saddened to hear of the death of Maurice Setters Assistant Manager to Jack Charlton and a former Ireland Under-21 Manager. "Maurice played a key role in the success of the Irish team in the 1980s and 1990s.
