Former Man City and West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini a contender for Everton job

Manuel Pellegrini has emerged as another potential Everton target as they search for a new coach to replace Carlo Ancelotti. The former Manchester City and Real Madrid manager has been contacted by intermediaries after a surprising sixth-place finish in Spain with Betis last year. Everton’s major shareholder Farhad Moshiri spoke to Pellegrini in 2016 when he was looking for a replacement for Roberto Martinez. Nuno Espirito Santo remains the overwhelming favourite to take over at Everton but the club continue to look at various alternatives, as Sportsmail reported on Thursday morning, with Rafa Benitez now heading up a list of options if Nuno does not agree terms. Other names being considered include Christophe Galtier, who led Lille to the French title, Brighton's Graham Potter, and Roberto Martinez, who had three years at Everton from 2013.
