Amid reports that former party MP from West Delhi, Mahabal Mishra, is being denied a Lok Sabha ticket, his supporters on Sunday held protests outside the AICC headquarters in Delhi. Slogans such as, "Purvanchal ka samman nahin toh Congress ko vote nahin" (No vote for Congress if there is no respect for Purvanchal), were raised by Mishra's supporters. There were protests outside Congress president Rahul Gandhi's residence by the supporters of Raj Kumar Chauhan too, amid rumours that he is being denied a ticket from North West Delhi. Reports suggest that the party is likely to field Delhi Congress working president Rajesh Lilothia there. Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee president Manjinder Singh Sirsa had already warned the Congress president against giving a ticket to Ramesh Kumar.
