Former Liverpool defender Rigobert Song out of coma after suffering stroke

Rigobert Song, the former Liverpool, West Ham United and Cameroon defender, is set to fly to France for more treatment after coming out of a coma. The 40-year-old was taken to hospital in Yaounde over the weekend after collapsing at home. He is thought to have suffered a cerebral aneurysm. “He has come out of his coma and the oxygen has been disconnected,” Dr Louis Joss Bitang A Mafok, director of the emergency centre at the Yaounde Central hospital, told the BBC. We can only pray to God that he comes through it,” the former Cameroon striker Roger Milla told L’Equipe.
