Glenn Whelan has taken interim of Wigan after the club sacked Ryan Lowe on Saturday evening. Former Ireland international Whelan, along with Graham Barrow, will manage the League One side's first team affairs as the club searches for a new head coach. Whelan previously took over as Wigan caretaker boss when the club sacked Shaun Maloney last year. Wigan lost 6-1 to Peterborough on Saturday, and find themselves third from bottom of the league, two points from safety. Huddersfield loanee Joe Taylor pulled one back in the 26th minute as he found the bottom corner against his former club.
