Sprint car veteran David Steele has died during a race in Florida. The statement says Steele was trying to win his 100th race in Florida. “Desoto Speedway owners and staff are saddened by tonight’s passing of David Steele in the Sprint car feature,” the post read. Steele drove in three IndyCar Series races and two Nascar Busch Series races during a long career. Nascar driver Kasey Kahne tweeted that Steele was “one of the best and such a good guy to hang out and have a beer with.”
