Former France rugby great Henri Rancoule dies aged 88

Henri Rancoule, who won the then Five Nations championship five times between 1955 and 1962, has died aged 88, French rugby federation president Bernard Laporte announced on Tuesday. Rancoule, who played on the wing, also helped his club, Lourdes, to three successive domestic titles in the side's heyday between 1956-58. "I learn with sadness the death of Henri Rancoule," Laporte wrote on twitter. Rancoule earned the first of his 27 international caps at the age of 22. His son, Jean-Michel Rancoule, followed in his father's footsteps on the wing, winning the French title three times in the late 1980s with Toulouse.
